ELLEGARDEN–Eleven Fire Crackers

ELLEGARDEN, a 4 piece out of Chiba, Japan, has a musical style similar to Blink 182.  Their American debut, Eleven Fire Crackers, was released in Japan in 2006 and in America in July of 2007.  The album itself is full of upbeat, catchy music, and lyrics that are mostly in English.  Hosomi, the band’s vocalist has an amazing ability with the English language, and his songs are beautifully written and almost flawlessly pronounced.  The album’s style varies from rocking punk to rocking ballads, and the deviation is a pleasant surprise.  This band has depth!

Songs like Fire Cracker and Space Sonic start the album off on the right foot, and definitely prove that this band has what it takes to succeed in America like they have in their native Japan.  The song Ash shows the band’s slightly softer side while Gunpowder Valentine showcase the bands faster, harder sound.

This album was an excellent choice for an American debut!  It’s only a matter of time before this band is selling out 30,000 seat venues here like they did at home.  For more information about ELLEGARDEN and to hear a few of their songs, visit their myspace or their OHP.
